Grace Winter Bird
Grace is a Caribbean American interior designer serving clients throughout the Buffalo metropolitan area. Her passion for thoughtful, meaningful design began early in life while living in Antigua with her aunt—a talented seamstress and entrepreneur whose creativity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit inspired Grace's appreciation for beautiful, intentional design.
After moving to the Bronx, Grace attended Brooklyn Technical High School, where she majored in Industrial Design. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the University at Buffalo. Grace is a member of both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), reflecting her commitment to professional excellence and continued growth within the design industry.
Grace's career has taken her through a wide range of architectural and interior design experiences, from New York City bars and nightclubs to boutique hospitality spaces, luxury Manhattan residences, and institutional projects with the University of Michigan's Campus Architects. Working across these diverse environments has given her the ability to thoughtfully balance creativity, functionality, and technical expertise, while recognizing that every client and every space deserves a unique approach.

She takes the time to truly understand each client's lifestyle, aspirations, and the way they want to feel in their space. This complete office suite remodel combined architectural planning with thoughtfully curated interior design to create a modern, functional workspace. Bird of Paradise Design managed the furniture selection and procurement, ensuring every piece complemented the overall design vision. Open and Inviting
Relax in refined luxury. This living room exudes sophistication with one-of-a-kind, museum-quality collectible artwork, striking statement pieces, and rich natural textures that create a space unlike any other in Buffalo. This project was part of a series of luxury remodels within a single building, where the second and third floors were completely gutted and reimagined into modern, elevated living and work spaces. Every design choice was made to balance timeless elegance with comfort, resulting in a home that is both distinctive and inviting.
Chic and Sophisticated
Designed as the centerpiece of an office lounge, this kitchen blends the sophistication of a luxury residence with the functionality of a commercial space. Thoughtfully selected finishes, refined materials, and timeless details create an inviting environment where employees and guests can gather, relax, and connect.
Health is Wealth
Biophilic design was a central priority for this project, reflecting the client's vision of creating a healthier and more inspiring workplace. With Buffalo's long winters limiting access to greenery, a living green wall was incorporated to bring the restorative qualities of nature indoors year-round. Space-saving, wall-mounted desks sourced from Italy maximized functionality while maintaining an open, modern aesthetic. Every design decision was made with employee well-being in mind, creating a workspace that supports mental health, productivity, and a stronger connection to the natural world.
A Private Oasis
Designed as a private spa retreat within an upscale penthouse, this luxury bathroom seamlessly blends elegance, comfort, and functionality. Bird of Paradise Design curated every detail—from premium finishes and thoughtful design elements to the final styling touches. The space was fully outfitted with luxury towels, soaps, artwork, and essential accessories, creating a move-in-ready sanctuary where every detail was thoughtfully considered..
